Galapos ID, Batang - Central Java

Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB), known as Grand Batang City, has once again demonstrated its commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of the local community in the era of globalization. By offering free Mandarin language training, Grand Batang City is opening up job opportunities for the local population in the industrial area.

The training, which ran from June 6 to July 4, 2024, was attended by 130 participants, including residents from four neighboring villages and several KITB tenant employees. The participants were taught basic Mandarin, such as reading intonation, numbers, letters, and Taiwanese culture. One interesting aspect of the training was teaching how to say thank you ("xie xie") with different hand positions for men and women, reflecting the depth of cultural material covered.

M. Fakhrur Rozi, Director of Institutional Relations and Public Relations at KITB, stated that this training is a tangible manifestation of Grand Batang City's commitment to empowering the local community and enhancing the quality of human resources around the industrial area. "Mandarin is one of the important languages in this era of globalization. We hope that through this training, the participants can improve their Mandarin skills and secure better job opportunities with KITB tenants," said Rozi.

Additionally, M. Burhan Murtaki, General Manager of Corporate Secretary KITB, noted that this initiative is one of the indicators of the success of the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate as a national strategic project. "KITB is not only successful in accelerating investments to drive economic growth and create jobs but also a valuable partner in building a sustainable and harmonious community," said Burhan.

One of the training participants, Inalia, expressed her happiness and gratitude for the opportunity provided by Grand Batang City. "I am very grateful to KITB for this Mandarin training. It is very beneficial for me, and I believe it will help me in finding a job in the future and working with one of the KITB tenants," said Inalia.

At the end of the training, participants received certificates as proof that they had completed the Mandarin language course. This program is just the beginning of many skill development programs planned by KITB to empower the surrounding community. Grand Batang City hopes this training can continue and reach more local residents around the industrial area.

Through this training program, Grand Batang City is not only focusing on economic growth and investment but also on developing the quality of local human resources, proving its role as a partner supporting the development of a better community.
